moms of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, in

roles as mothers and grandmothers. Meetings include

Lake Road, Lake City, 16423, 774-8592 & Jam Making at Grace Church Childcare available at Grace Church 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for $3/child or $6/family MUST RSVP FOR CHILDCARE--Darcey Lewis, 217-0668. We’ll plan to pick for approx. 1 hour and then go to Grace Church to make jam. Children may pick berries with you or stay in childcare at Grace. In deciding whether to take your children picking with you, keep in mind that it will be HOT and you are responsible for supervising your kids. Picking is not recommended for young children.
Please bring the following:
Driver’s license—you’ll need to give this to Mason Farms while you are picking
Basket to place strawberries in or can borrow or buy some from Mason Farms
Money to buy strawberries
To make jam from 1 quart of strawberries (increase ingredients according to how many berries you want to pick and how much jam you want to make). We’re using the Quick ‘n Easy Recipe from Sure Jell box:
1 box of Sure Jell, 4 cups of sugar, 5-6 small plastic containers (e.g. Ziploc snack or butter/margarine size)
We need a few people to bring an electric or hand food processor/chopper and measuring cups.
