Annie
Watson
Administrative Assistant
What
do you do at Grace?: Assist
Pastor Al, Bernie Farabaugh & Jill
Mintsiveris in administrative work. Also serve
as Church Secretary.
How long have you been at Grace? 9.5
years
Family Information: Married for 32 years
to Pastor Mike. Three children: Paula, Ellen,
Laurel. Son-in-law:
John Phillips and precious granddaughter, Allison
Marie.
Education: I survived 12 years of Catholic education.
(4 with just girls!)
Fun Stuff:
If you were an animal, what would you
be (why)? I can’t see myself
out in the wild so I guess I would be a beloved
family pet, like a
cocker spaniel that laid on a braided rug by
the hearth all day and took naps whenever I felt
like it.
Favorite color: blue
Favorite
Food: my lasagna
Pet
Peeve(s): people that talk during movies (in
a theatre or at home), close talkers, whiners,
the fact that everything that tastes good
is
not good for you!
Hobbies: Playing with Allison, reading, sewing, home
projects, napping
If
you had 24 hours to live, what three things
would
you do? First I would say an “Act
of Contrition”,
just in case..(some habits die hard).
Actually, I would make sure my heart
was right with God
and my sins were confessed. That should
take a while, then I would gather my
family around
me and tell them how much they mean to
me, then I would spend the rest of the
time with my husband
making sure that he would never forget
me!
Tell
us about a few influential (or favorite) books
you’ve read: I like
to read to relax when I have the time
and can stay awake. My favorite
Christian author is Francine Rivers.
I’ve read all of her
books. I really like Nicholas Sparks.
His books are a quick read and always
entertaining.
Spiritual Stuff:
Tell us a little bit about your spiritual
journey: I came to Christ
at 18 years old and spent the first
10 years in a
very
evangelistic young church,
in which I grew up spiritually. Following
the Lord has been the only life that
I
could imagine
for myself. It has been a joy even
in hard times…an
incomparable adventure. And the best
is yet to come!
What
did you do before you started working
at Grace? I worked in
the office for various businesses,
and was a full-time
mom for 10 years
before that.
Why
are you passionate about church and ministry? I
love the feeling of family in a church community.
I love to
see new
people
come into the church
and get connected and watch them
find their niche in using their
gifts for
service.
I love that
you can be in a place with 700
people from all different walks
of life
and have that
common thread that connects you.
Working in youth
ministry
for 9 years, I loved seeing teenagers
grow in their walk with God and
mature into
adults who
are serious about their relationship
with Him. It has also been hard
to see others
struggle
with their faith. Most of all
I love seeing people come to Christ
and
watch them change
and grow
through the ministry at Grace.
